Kolkata: Civic’s body hopes to receive fresh stock covishield to reopen 102 vaccination clinics and 50 mega centers on Monday.
The clinic and mega centers have been closed since Friday due to lack of acute covishield.
Only a handful of centers where Covaxin is managed now it works.
Hope to reopen other central centers on Saturday with the arrival of 3.5 lakh doses of covishield in the Bagbazar Depot of the State Health Department.
According to KMC health officials, the second dose of Covishield’s deposit has touched the 1st of the 1 lakh and it will continue to rise if the KMC fails to provide a vaccine from the clinic and the mega center from Monday.
“We need 30,000-35,000 covishield doses every day for our 102 clinics and 50 mega centers.
Now, stocks have been in vain.
So it’s clear that the current backlog will increase and it will be the uphill task to bridge the gap if the stock doesn’t arrive at Sunday afternoon, “said KMC official.
KMC BoA Firhad Chairman Hakim expressed concern for Covishield’s noon.
“At present, we have no stock to continue the covishield vaccination at the Civic Clinic.
We hope the center will send fresh supplies without delay.
We have sent a letter to PM looking for a supply of covishield immediately.
We cannot reopen the clinic and the center of our mega to stock Arrive, “said the judge.
However, the Ministry of Health KMC stores Covaxin clinics and the mega center open on Saturdays.
“We don’t have a scarcity of Covaxin.
We managed 13,000-15,000 covaxin doses of our 28 clinics and the mega center.
We have stock for four-five days,” said an official.
