Coimbatore: Aldurai police on Sunday booked two Tipper truck owners and a driver to try to smuggle gravel carrying 2.5 units of gravel.
Police Inspector N Muthupandi submitted a case against Tipper Truck owner M Ashok Kumar, who is also a truck driver .Venkatsan stopped another truck carrying 2.5 units of gravel at 8.30.
Truck owner C Vasantha Senan from Valayampalayam and driver V Praveen Gandhi from Devarayapuram, managed to escape.
Officials Department of Revenue seized vehicles and five units of gravel.
Officials said that truck owners were not given permission to squeeze pebbles and mineral development regulations, 1957.
