BAREILLY: Three children, aged between 7 and 11, inadvertently dropped and ushered in a big pit supposedly awakened for illegal sand mining nearby Sot river at Islamnagar region of Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun area on Saturday evening.
The kids, hailing from Kunwarpur village, had been grazing cattle close to the river once the incident happened.
Their households are yet to file a complaint with authorities.
Resources stated like any evening, cousins Altamash (11) and Ismail (11) and their neighbor, Monis (7), had gone across the lake with their cows.
It was raining the entire day along with the huge gap was stuffed to the brim, which makes the sand and sand around it quite slippery.
Following the other kids ran in the direction of the village to look for assistance, villagers pulled the bodies out.

But they, also, lost their equilibrium in the slippery sand and dropped to the water.
None of the kids knew how to swim and swim.

Bachchu Singh, SHO of all Islamnagar police station that had been recently moved from Bareilly, told TOI,”The pit is a couple of months old.
No prohibited mining activity was reported here because I took control.
The amount of water from the pit has been normal due to incessant rain.
Each of the 3 kids belong to the households of marginal farmers.
We’d requested them to provide the bodies to get the autopsy but they denied and didn’t provide any written criticism.
