3 Customs Officers suspended on the offer of smuggling sanders red

Bengaluru: Three customs officers, including two supervisors and inspectors, have been suspended after the July 29 incident where efforts were made to smuggle red Sanders worth Rs 6 Crore to Dubai from the Kempegowda International Airport complex.
The Bengaluru Unit of the Directorate of Intelligence recently submitted a probe report to Bangalore Customs.
According to airport sources, officers inherent in Bangalore Customs posted in Kia cargo complex when the discipline offer was revealed on Thursday night waiting for the investigation of their department to ensure their involvement.

Although it was declared a plastic pipe used in building construction, consignment containing red sanders with a weight of more than three tons and is estimated to be worth more than RS 6 Crore in the international market.

However, the identity of the officers has been detained because Bangalore Customs itself conducts internal probes in the case of Red Sanders, the source added.
