VARANATION: Three Days Festival -Kashi Utsav organized by Indira Gandhi National Center for Arts (IGNCA) with Government Administration Support and Varanasi Uttar Pradesh, under the auspices of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ starting at the International Cooperation of Rudraksh and Convention Center on Tuesday.
Varanasi has been chosen for this festival because of a rich inheritance of culture, beautiful history and glorious beauty.
The first session of Kashi Utsaav was inaugurated by the Secretary of the IGNCA member Dr.
Schhidanand Joshi, Archaeologist Prof.
Maruti Nandan Tiwari, Critik Virendra Mishra and Ignca Director of Priyanka Mishra.
This festival starts with Kathak’s performance.
Recording the poet Dr.
Kumar Vishwas presented performance on ‘Play Kashi Hun’ and theater presentations on ‘Kamayani: Dance Drama’ based on classic poetry Jaisankar Prasad served on the first day of the Fest three days.
Play has been directed by Vyomesh Shukla from Varanasi.
The first day’s event was based on the theme ‘Kashi to Hastakshar,’ focused on literary figures from Varanasi.
A theme has been dedicated to every festival day.
The second day theme will be ‘Kabir, Raidas Ki Bani Aur Nirgun Kashi’ and the closing day will have the theme ‘Kavita Aur Kahani – Kashi Ki Zubani’.
BJP MP and singer Manoj Tiwari will provide a music presentation in ‘Tulsi Ki Kashi’ on the closing day of Fest.
Some service performances by artists such as Kalapini Komkali, Bhuvanesh Komkali, Padma Shri Bharti Bandhu, and Maithili Thakur will also be presented during the festival.
The three-day festival is dedicated to the legendary Kashi personality including leading literary figures, Bhartendu Harishchandra, Jaishankar Prasad, Sant Raidas, Sant Kabirdas, Goswami Tulsidas and Munshi Premchand.
During the three-day celebration of various aspects of literary characters will be highlighted through events such as panel discussions, exhibitions, screening films, music, drama and dance by leading artists.
Other events that will be presented include performances based on Rani Laxmi Bai, ‘Khoob Ladi Mardani’ directed by Bharti Sharma from NSD.
This play will be presented by artists from the National School of Drama (NSD) on the 1st.
Some fims from Ignca on cultural heritage and literature from Varanasi will also be played during the festival.
The films that will be screened include ‘Banaras Sanskritik Prayogshala’ by Virendra Mishra, ‘Meri Nazar Mein Kashi’ and ‘Manbhawan Kashi’ directed by Pankaj Parashar, ‘Kashi Pavitra Bhugol’ directed by Deepak Chaturvedi, ‘Made in Banaras’ by Satyaprakash Upadhyay, ‘Kashi Ganga Vishveshvarai’ and ‘Muktidham’ by Radhika Chandrasekhar, ‘Kashi Ki Aitihasikta’ and ‘Kashi Ki Hastiya’ by Arjun Pandey.
A book exhibition and six literary personalities have also been held at the Festival.
Famous speakers include Dr.
Sachchidanand Joshi, Prof.
Maruti Nandan Tiwari, Virendra Mishra, Prof.
Niranjan Kumar, Anant Vijay, Prof.
Poonam Kumari Singh, Prof.
Vishambhar Nath Mishra; Dr.
Sadanand Shahi, Dr.
Uday Pratap Singh participated in a panel discussion on six figures from Kashi.
