Ghaziabad: Surana Village Resident Sandeep admitted his wife Meenu to Muradnagar Community Health Center on Wednesday, where he delivered the baby.
But at Wee hours Saturday, the baby was gone.
The couple said that their baby was stolen, and their relatives created a commotion at CHC.
They also blocked the Meerut road for four hours of protest.
Senior police officers reached the place and held talks with relatives and only after their guarantee that the blockade was removed.
Sandeep said, “My wife examined the child around 3am and went to bed.
My mother, who was with her at the time, was also sleeping.
My wife woke up around 4am and saw the child missing.
There are no signs of a baby in the whole ward And this shows the negligence of the staff.
“He told the police that he suspected a woman, who roamed the maternity ward.
“He is a servant of a man who has destroyed his hand and both of them also cannot be found in CHC,” he said.
Meanwhile, CMO Bhavtosh Shankhdhar said that the district judge had ordered an investigation.
“We have suspended ward servants and guards on duty and have moved other ward servants,” he said.
SP Rural IRAJ King said that four teams had been formed to track babies.
“We have gathered suspects and they were questioned.
We also checked CCTV footage to identify the defendant,” he said.
