Madurai: Three families, including a three-month-old child, died on Friday night after the car where they traveled deflecting the road accidentally and plunged into the canyon in Kodaikanal.
According to the police, Gokul, 30, an advocate from Madurai Regency, returned from Kodaikanal with his wife Nandhini Bharathi, 27, a three-month-old daughter Yazhini, Mother-in-law of Alarurani, 46, and other relatives, Kartikeyan, 26.
The family has traveled to Kodaikanal and Return to Madurai through Theni.
According to the police, when the car approached Adukkam to Themi at around 8:45 a.m., Gokul lost control of the vehicle due to low visibility.
The police said the car turned out of the way and dropped around 300 feet into the canyon below.
Three of the occupants sitting behind, including babies, Nandhini and Alagurani, died in place.
Relatives of advocates, Karthikeyan, who sat in front of him, climbed up the hill and told the police by telephone.
Officials of the Department of Police and Fire and Rescue and Rescue, including police deputy supervisors, Piyakulam, K Muthukukar, reached a place to carry out rescue operations.
After several hours, with the help of the general public close to the area, they can save Gokul alive and restore the body.
While Karthikeyan only suffered minor injuries, Gokul was in treatment at Medical Medical College Theni (MCH) for more severe injuries.

Cases have been registered by police under various parts of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) for negligence and further investigation.
