Agra: Three people died and one person was hospitalized after allegedly consuming liquid liquor, said the source on Tuesday.
The police said they had sealed four liquor stores near Kaulera Kala Village and Barkula Village.
However, the police have not confirmed that death occurs because of consumption of false liquor.
The incident took place on Monday night.
According to sources, Radhe (42) and Antil (34), the villagers of Kaulera Kala, Prasad’s style (50), residents of Barkula Village, and Ramveer (30) consumed liquor, which they had purchased from local shops.
After consuming liquor, their health began to deteriorate and they rushed to the nearest hospital.
SP Timur, Agra Rural, Ashok Venkat told PTI that Radhe, Anil and Prasad’s style had died while Ramveer underwent treatment at the hospital.
“The real cause of death is unknown and it will only be known after postmortem,” he said.
SP said four liquor stores near the two villages had been sealed, and further investigation was ongoing.
The Radhe family performed his last ritual without police permission Monday night, said the source.
Two other bodies were sent for postmortem.
