Rajkot: Three workers died while the other three were saved after the scaffolding they stood in fainting at a cement plant in Porbandar, Gujarat on Thursday.
“We have saved three people safely after a nine-hour operation.
They have shifted to the hospital in Porbandar.
Three people died in the incident.
Investigations are being carried out to ensure the actual cause of the incident.
Those who are responsible will be ordered,” said Ravi Mohan Saini, police supervisor, Porbandar.
Rescue operations that began at 5 pm on Thursday lasted until 2am on Friday.
Coast guards, firefighters and two NDRF teams) are involved in rescue operations.
According to sources, the incident occurred when workers worked in a chimney with a height of 45 feet.
The metal scaffold was established for maintenance work and painting in the chimney.
