Tirunelveli: Three students of a government-assisted school male in the city of Tirunelveli Tamil Nadu were destroyed to death and the other four suffered injuries when the toilet wall collapsed on Friday morning.
The incident occurred in the Medium Middle School Schaffer in S N High Road around 11.
The deceased has been identified as K Anbalagan (class IX) from Narasinganallur, T Viswarajan (class VIII) from Thatchanallur and R Sudeesh (class VI).
Tirunelveli Junction Police arrested the Selvakumar R p correspondent, Headmistress B V Persis Gnanaselvi and contractor John Kennedy, who built a collapsed wall, holding them responsible for the tragedy.
They are ordered based on part 304 (ii) (causing anyone’s death by doing a rash or negligent act that does not amount to the guilty murder) from the Criminal Procedure.
Preliminary questions reveal that the wall has no foundation and can weaken due to recent rain.
According to a statement issued by the district administration, the incident occurred during the 11am interval when students rushed to the restroom.
The front wall of the bathroom covered the area of the inside collapsed.
Three boys were taken and sent to Tirunelveli Medical College and hospitals for postmortem.
Four other boys, who were injured, rushed to the same hospital.
What was injured was identified as Sanjay (class VIII) from Thatchanallur, M Isakki Prakash (class IX) from Tirunelveli Town, Siekh Aboobakar Kithani (class XII) from Vagaalam and Abdullah (class VII).
Dean M Ravichandran Hospital said that their condition underwent stable treatment.

Fire service personnel and rescue corrected from accident locations to avoid injury to students.
Police Commissioner Tirunelveli N K Sentharai Kannan said their focus was to protect the students.
“Based on the results of the investigation of how the accident occurred, the action would be taken against those responsible for that,” he told reporters.
Vishnu District collector visited students who underwent treatment and asked them about their health and incident.
Tirunelveli Mla Nainar Nagendran visited the school and told reporters that the wall did not have the foundation.
He also visited the hospital and entertained KIN from the deceased and asked about the condition of the injured students undergoing treatment.
The school education department instructed Tirunelveli Chief Education Officer to conduct an investigation and submit a report.
KIN from the deceased encouraged a demonstration on TVMC, refusing to receive a corpse until the defendant was arrested and putting forward other demands.
