Gurgaon: The branch of Gurgaon police crime on Thursday broke the vehicle lifting gang with the arrest of three members.
According to the police, the gang was used to sell stolen vehicles to dealer memos.
The police have recovered two cars and two two-wheeled from them.
On July 18, Indervir Singh, a resident of Nehru Lane, filed a complaint at the New Colony Police Station after his Honda City car was stolen.
“I parked my car outside my house.
The next morning, it’s gone,” Singh said.
The Arvind Inspector, was responsible for the 10 Crime sector unit, and his team arrested three people from the basi in connection with theft.
The defendant was identified as a deep alias Piliya, Atul and Rahul aka Ravi.
“They were involved in vehicle theft for some time and about two dozen cases registered at several police stations.
They have been sent to prison also on several occasions,” said ACP (Crime) Pal Sangwan.
Officers added that the defendant was addicted to drugs and alcohol and had stolen vehicles for fast money.
“They used to target vehicles parked in open areas and sightseeing,” he said.
The police also tried to find out the Memo dealer who used to buy the stolen vehicle.
Meanwhile, in another case, the SOHNA crime unit has arrested two people because of robbing bank officials.
