Deoria: Three girls sank in the pool here after their ship was upside down when they took Selfie, a senior government official said on Saturday.
The girls were in the age group 8-12.
Seven girls went to take a boat at Mahadev Taal under the Bhalamani police station area on Friday night.
They clicked Selfie when the ship was upside down, said the Ashutosh Niranjan District Judge.
While four girls somehow managed to save themselves, three sinks.
One of the four survivors received at Gorakhpur Medical College was in serious condition, he said.
Boatman also managed to swim to a safe place, Niranjan said.
The family of the deceased will be given government compensation in accordance with the norms, he said.
