3 held to sell fake protein supplements with top company labels

Noida: Three people have been arrested for alleged production and sales of false steroids and protein supplements after raids at Badalpur-based factories on Saturday.
The defendant was suspected of using a fake label of foreign companies and brands on products, police said.
Raw material worth Rs 2 Crore and the machine used in the manufacture of fake products has been confiscated, they added.
According to the police, the main accusation, Anuj Kumar Singh (30), a resident of Varanasi, held a biotechnology title from the Chennai Institute and has worked in several pharmaceutical companies for six years before starting the unit to produce fake products.
The other two defendants have been identified as Preetam Brother-in-law Anuj, aka Golu (24), from Chandauli, and Bacchan Kumar (25), native to Bulandshahr.
Eamaran G, ADCP Greater Noida, said the police department and drug inspection received information about the factory and carrying out attacks.
“Three men were arrested from that place.
We also seize raw materials, some closed supplements, XUV 500 and one scooter from their ownership,” he said.
The police said the men bought raw materials from two men, Praveen Dhankad and Somfeer Dhankad, from Rewari in Haryana.
The two men are currently in process.
“The defendant used to produce fake products and use leading foreign brand labels.
The two suspects from Haryana were used to help them sell products locally.
They have functions in the area for the past six months,” ADCP said.
Police said the suspects did not have a license to produce health supplements and these products dangerous for consumption.
The case has been registered with five suspects under the part of the IPC 274 (forgery of drugs), 275 (sales of falsified drugs), 420 (cheating), and 471 (using as a genuine false document) and drug law & cosmetics, 1940 .
