MUMBAI:”The crime division of Mumbai police arrested three men that have been attempting to market Ambergris or the sanity of whale appreciated roughly Rs 2.7 crore from suburban Mulund,” an official said Wednesday.
“On getting the data, unit-4 of the offense division together with a forest officer spanned an area in the Bomate Chawl on Tuesday night and picked three individuals using an Ambergris weighing 2.7 kg,” he explained.
The samples of this captured Ambergris were shipped into marine biologists for evaluation.
“A case has been registered against the 3 men under different parts of the Wildlife Protection Act and also they have been detained,” he stated, including”additional analysis is underway” The selling of Ambergris, that can be used to make cologne, is banned by law since the sperm whale is an endangered species which is protected under the Wildlife Protection Act.
