Ranchi: Ranchi Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three people – Abhishek Dubey, Amit Singh and Niwaran Prasad Mahto – from two different places in connection with the alleged state government efforts.
They were arrested at the complaint of the MLA congress from Murch, Anup Singh alias Kumar Jaimangal Singh.
On Saturday night, Ranchi SSP Surindra Jha agreed after the photos came out that the two defendants were detained in Bokaro on Friday, then took them to Ranchi for further investigation on Saturday and were arrested from there.
Previously in the morning, the police released a press statement that they had caught three people from different places, including from attacks in a city hotel.
The statement also said the trio had claimed their involvement in the conspiracy to bring down the state government.
The police have confiscated RS 2 lakh cash, documents, and electronic equipment.
Some other people involved in this case escaped, said the statement.
“Allegations have admitted that they plan to contact political personality and offer them cash.
The police tried to identify and verify all those involved in this case.
Examination of documents and electronic equipment confiscated during the raid on progress,” Jha said in the statement.
He, however, declined to comment from where the third person was arrested.
It was also unclear why the police said they were attacking at a Ranchi Hotel to arrest two charges when they were detained in Bokaro and allegedly taken to the hotel.
“I will not divulge further information besides what is written in the statement,” Jha said when contacted.
According to information available on social media, Abhishek Dubey’s profile is unknown but the identity card confiscated from Amit Singh said he was a contract worker at BSL while Niwaran Prasad Mahto was a vegetable vendor who had resisted the assembly selection in 2009.
Case (159/2021) Registered on July 22 under the Section 419, 420, 124A, 120B and 34 of the Indian Criminal Code, part 171B Representation of the Action and Parts of the people 8 and 9 ACT corruption prevention of the trio.
Acting on the same fir, the trio was arrested and produced in front of the court on Saturday.
