Mumbai: The narcotics control bureau (NCB) has confiscated almost one kg of gold hidden in the body cavity of three Kenyan women at Mumbai International Airport, an official said on Thursday.
The three have landed here from Doha on Tuesday night, he said.
Acting on the tip-off, NCB Sleuggells intercepted Khuresha Ali (61), Abdullahi Abdia Adan (43) and Ali Sadia Allo (45).
No illegal was found in their luggage, but during interrogation, women seek medical help say they feel uncomfortable.
They were taken to hospital J J J J where it was found that they had gold hidden in the body cavity, he said.
Under the doctor’s care, 13 gold packages containing a total of 17 pieces, weighing 937.78 grams at all, recovering.
Weighing each piece ranges from 20 grams to 100 grams.
Because NCB did not deal with gold smuggling, this case was handed over to the habit, the official said.
