Atlanta, Georgia: Pro Golf at the Suburban Atlanta Country Club was shot and killed Saturday by a man who drove to the golf course in a pickup truck carrying the body of two other men on the bed of the vehicle, police said.
Pro Golf was identified by several golf organizations as Gene Siller, who was in his 40s.
One of the victims found dead in a truck bed was identified as Paul Pierson, who was a registered owner of a 3500 RAM pickup truck, the Cobb County Police Department said in a statement on Sunday.
The third victim has not been identified on Sunday night.
The two men were found in bed pickup trucks had died of gunshot wounds, police said.
The suspect has not been arrested or identified, and researchers are still trying to determine the motives, the Cobb County Police Department said, who was investigating the shooting.
Siler, who has served as a golf director at the Country Club, was found dead at around 14:21 East time Saturday near the 10th hole of the Pinetree Country club at Kennesaw, Georgia, about 30 miles northwest Atlanta, police said.
Tweet from Kennesaw State University, which is east of Country Club, seems to show that the authorities are looking for a suspect from 14:58 at least 4:26 Saturday.
The suspect who escaped “Armed and dangerous” and looked about a mile outside the Country Club around 4pm on Saturday, the University’s emergency management office said on Twitter.
Around 5pm, the university said there was no more “credible threat to campus.” The Georgian Golf Association said in a statement that “our thoughts and prayers with family and friends Gene Siller.” Siller competed at Yamaha Atlanta opened in May.
Georgia PGA posted on Twitter on Saturday, “The tragedy has hit the Georgian PGA part in the loss of our members, Gene Siller.
Mind and prayer for his family and family club Pinetree.”
