Gurugram: Stretching between Daultabad-Dharampur road and Sarai Bajera near the Delhi-Gurugram border is likely to experience beauty in the coming months.
Officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) said the plantation would be made along a long road of 3.6 km, which was recently widened into four lanes.
This project will cost Rs 21 Lakh and takes about three months to complete it.
“Every plant cannot survive in conditions that are common in the area, which tend to see a lot of pollution and dust due to the high volume of vehicle movements.
We usually place Bougainvillea or Thevetia in the area.
However, the central threshold does not have enough width for Bougainvillea.
So , we will place plants from the Thevetian species, which are considered stronger and can survive despite pollution, “said a senior PWD official.
He added that the tender that invited online offers had floated.
“The plantation can only be started in February since the season to end at that time,” the official said.
Tender states that in addition to the three months where the work will be completed, the contractor will also be responsible for maintenance for a period of 26 months.
