New Delhi: The three MPS left parties in Rajya Sabha have moved the movement to the introduction of private members of a member in a uniform civil code, by saying the law will damage the shared harmony.
MP BJP Kirodi Lal Meena is scheduled to introduce a uniform civil code in India Bill 2021, but he cannot do it because the house is postponed after recurring disturbances.
CPI Rajya Sabha Binay Member VisWam and CPI (M) MPS Elamaram Kareem and V Sivadasan move the movement.
In a letter to the Chairperson of Rajya Sabha M Venkaiiah Naidu, VisWam said the demand for the uniform KUHP had a complicated history and polarizing originating from independence.

Kareem, in his letter to Naidu, said the subject needed a broader consultation and discussion before the law could be taken in.
