Pune: Not a single pregnant woman gets Jab Covid in three city companies – Solapur, Parbhani and Amaravati, revealed the latest report from the State Health Department.
Overall, part of 27 state-city areas in maternal vaccination that expects remains low compared to 34 urban and rural districts, the report shows.
So far, the city area has been vaccinated by 8,265 pregnant women with the first Jab to opposing 24,016 women from small cities and villages.
Pregnant women began to get Jab in India in July.
“We verify data with three Civic Corporation officials.
We have a hunch that some pregnant women choose to support under the category of age groups instead of the pregnant woman’s category,” said the State Immunization Officer Sachin Desai to Ti.
Although three areas of the city have recorded zero vaccination in pregnant women, semi-urban and rural districts have been vaccinated.
“Amaravati Regency records vaccination 16 women, followed by Parbhani (142) and Solapur (3,042) with the first shot,” Desai said.
One reason why more vaccination among pregnant women in rural / semi-urban districts can be associated with a network of women’s health workers called Asha.
“Ashas pays a door-to-door visit, advising a pregnant woman about the benefits of covid vaccination and ensures that they get a voluntary opportunity.
This can be one of the reasons why pregnant women ‘vaccination is relatively better in rural / semi-urban countries,” said Sanjay Deshmukh Public Health Expert, Assistant Director, Health Services.
“Pune towns and villages’ 1,144 pregnant women receive the first shot until October 27.
But the PMC area and PCMC recorded vaccination 356 and 220 women with the first shot so far,” said a health activist Sanjay Dabhade.
