MOLUGU / HYDERABAD / RAIPUR: Three Maoists were killed in the fire exchange between criminals and security personnel at the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border Monday morning.
During the Joint Flaming Operation by Greyhound Telangana command and police Chhattisgarh deep in the dense forest in Muluugu Telangana Regency, security personnel were under the API explosion from Maois who pushed the former to retaliate, said a Telangana police officer.
Greyhound, Muluugu District Police and Units from the Bijapur Police Chhattisgarh have combed dense forests for the past few days looking for Maoist leaders Top Madvi Hidma, after the informant saw it near the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border.
“During the preliminary operation, Maois fired a home kick on security personnel and the latter returned fire.
In the next shooting, three Maoists were killed,” said Muluugu SP Sangram Singh G Patil.
Weapons show senior cadres in the range of Groupbastar Ig P Sundarraj said the Hourlong meeting broke out between Greyhound Telangana and Maois at a layer of dense forest near Nilamadugu on the border among the countries, between Furs in the Mulugu District of Telangana and Illimidi in Bijapur.
The confiscated weapons included AK47 and SLR, showing senior cadres in the rebel group.
Spokesman for the Maois State Committee of Telangana Jagan, in a statement, identified those killed as Damaal’s villagers, Gadchiroli residents in Maharashtra, and Soddi Ramaal and Punem Bhadru from the Bijapur district.
CPI (Maois) accused it was a fake meeting and said the bandh on Wednesday was moved to protest murder.
The joint connection operation began after the Maoist tip-off had planted land mines to attack police and paramilitary camps in the area, in addition to targeting local politicians.
While cleaning the area, the police restored hand grenades, bags 12 kits, four weapons, including rifles, explosive cables, pressure cookers, and knives.
