Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh police on Wednesday arrested three suspected terrorists from Ansar Ghazwatul related to Al-Qaida, a senior official said.
Those who were arrested were identified as Shakeel, a resident of Wazirganj Lucknow; Mohammad Mustqueeem from Muzaffarnagar and Mohammad Moid from New Haidanj, Campwell Road, Lucknow.
Previously on July 11, anti-terror troops (ATS) had arrested Minhaz Ahmed and Musheeruddin.
ATS has claimed that they planned an explosion, including using “human bombs” in several places in Uttar Pradesh.
“On their tip-off, some people were called to be interrogated by ATS.
The three were arrested after they received their involvement with two previously arrested,” Prashant Kumar said (law and command).
The three will be produced in court for further action, he said.
They plan to “release terror activities before August 15 (independence day) in various cities in the state, including Lucknow”, Kumar said before.
“They plan a blast in important places, warnings and crowded places, and also to use human bombs.
For this, they collect weapons and explosives,” Kumar said.
He said modules were not only from Lucknow but also from Kanpur in the state.
The official said that an improvised explosive device (IED) was found in Ahmed’s house along with explosives and pistols.
Explosives were also confiscated from Musheeruddin’s residence.
He said the module for Indian continental children was announced by Al-Qaida on September 3, 2014.
Maulana Asim Umar, who led al-Qaida in the children of the continent, was killed on September 23, 2019 in the US-Afghanistan operation, Kumar has said.
Umar Halmandi has started the work of recruiting men for al-Qaida in India and their radicals, he said.
For this, he has identified several aggressive people in Lucknow, pointing them and building al-Qaeda modules, he said.
