3 non-profit India was chosen for $ 2.5 million from Google.org

New Delhi: google.org – Google philanthropic arm – on Monday announced as many as 34 recipients of funding the impact of google.org for women and girls from 19 countries, including three of India.
Three local recipients have been chosen as part of this challenge including Samhita – CGF, Pratham’s educational foundation, and the Swataleem Foundation.
They will receive $ 2.5 million (around RS 18.5 Crore) cumulatively.
“The response is greater than we have seen for other Google.org impact challenges.
7,800 applications show us that most of these organizations are focused on four fields: Development of skills and progress of career, entrepreneurship and business, education, independence and support” said a statement.
With a $ 800,000 grant, the project “Revative Alliance” Samhita – CGF aims to provide flower-free “returns” grants to 10,000 women who do not have access to traditional financial support systems to invest in digitalization and include their business needs, the statement is said.
If a woman pays back the grant, she “graduated” and gained access to the banking and microfinance partners of Samhita-CGF, he added.
Pratham will receive USD 1 million in funds to connect more than 7,000 young women, unemployment is a job in the beauty and health industry and the automotive industry, mechanics, and electricity dominated by men.
Pratham’s education will connect women to livelihood clubs that support technology and offer 300 to 500 hours of training paid all costs to help women get accreditation from the development company of Indian national skills, he said.
With a $ 700,000 grant, Swataleem and the Humane Warrior will educate girls and women who are historically marginalized in Indian countryside through a creative low-tech platform.
Through applications and automatic audio files played on speaker phones, it avoids the need for the internet while providing women’s access to traditional subjects such as mathematics and science, as well as socio-emotional training and financial literacy such as how to open a bank account, the statement notes.
The pilot program is designed for 900 girls and families, providing further education although sturdy pandemics in areas where access to low internet and high child marriage prevalence.
With Manusiaw Warriors, this aims to reach 5,000 more girls for the next two years.
Swataleem has also been selected among the four other global funding recipients to receive support for special ads from Google account managers to reach more educators and online supporters with Google search ads at no cost.
To support and advance this investment, Google.org, the Google Accelerator team, and women’s techmakers will run a four-month global virtual accelerator program where a very skilled Googler will provide Pro Bono support which includes training, networking and guidance, the statement said.
“When we continue to invest in an effort to extend the opportunity for women to achieve their potential, and improve their lives, and from their families, communities and economics, partnerships with organizations like this will be key.” We are encouraged by the various approaches they take and their sustainable impacts, and are eager to support their work where it is most important, “he added.
