LONDON: Ireland secured a 1-1 draw after defeating Zimbabwe with seven goals in the third one-day environment which was disturbed in Belfast.
After winning the throw and chosen for the field, Ireland spaced their opponents to 131 in Overs 34.
Captain Craig Ervine Top-Scored for tourists with 57, but there was a disappointment for Brendan Taylor, playing international matches 284 and finally, because he was held with only seven .
Ervine paid tribute to Taylor and admitted he would leave a big vacuum to be filled.
“Brendan Taylor has become an ambassador to the country, a big loss for us,” Ervine said.
“He will leave a hole, someone must fill the Zimbabwe cricket.” The rain then left Ireland to pursue a revised target of 32 of 32 overs and they subsided the house with almost 10 leisure overs with Paul Stirling hit 43 of only 40 balls.
“It is a complete performance of the team,” said Irish captain Andy Balbirnie.
