Almora: two women and a resident, all residents of Lajpat Nagar Delhi, were killed and 17 others were injured when a bus carried a wedding from Pauri Garhwal caressing the highway Dhumakot-Bubakh near Marchula, about 1 km from Shankarpur, and fell into the canyon on the canyon Friday.
Police said the driver of Ashok Putra Jagannath lost control of the vehicle, caused the accident.
This group returned after attending a wedding at Pauri Garhwal.
Those who died were identified as Rakesh Sharma, 28, groom’s cousins, Sumitra Devi, 65, and Sarita Devi, 50, both of them were groom’s aunts.
While Sharma is a local businessman, the two women are home makers.
Sumitra Devi died in place, the other on the way to the hospital.
In receiving information, ITBP personnel and local residents do rescue work and injured in a hurry to government hospitals, Ramnagar.
