‘3 Omicron patients in Delhi do not have a travel history’

New Delhi: Three of the 34 omicron-positive patients who admit at Lok Nayak Hospital here do not have a history of travel, Health Minister Delhi Satyendar Jain said on Tuesday.
Jain also reiterated the request to stop all international flights, said it was the only way to contain the spread of new Covid variants in India.
“The LNJP Hospital has reported 34 Omicron cases so far.
Seventeen of them have run out.
Of the 34 patients, three do not have a history of travel.
We tried to ascertain whether they came into contact with people infected with Omicron who returned from a foreign country,” he told reporters here.
“We also found several international travelers who tested negatively to Covid before taking flight to Delhi but came out positively on arrival at the airport,” he said.
Jain said Omicron came from a foreign country and stopped all international flights was the only way to contain the spread of new variants that were a concern.
According to the Ministry of Health Union, the number of omicron cases in the national capital has increased to 54.
