Chatra: Chatra SP Rakesh Rakesh Ranjan has suspended three policemen and attaching the other two to the police line because he beat the army’s jail in Block Mayurhund for Wednesday.
Ranjan swung in action after the video from the attack became a viral.
The incident occurred in the Karma Bazar area, where Pawan Kumar Yadav, a general task warrior in the army camp in Jodhpur in Rajasthan, was beaten because he did not wear a mask.
The suspension task was late on Wednesday night.
Ranjan said, “Based on a report from DSP (head office), three policemen (one police officer and two policemen) has been suspended as a disciplinary action .
Pawan said when he reached Karma Bazar in his bicycle, a policeman Jawan, Sanjay Bahadur Ram, stopped him and took his vehicle key.
“They asked why I didn’t wear a mask.
When I showed them my helmet with Face Shield’s visor, they began behaving badly with me and attacked me with Lathis,” he said.
In particular, the Development Officer of Block Mayurhund Saset Sinha, who was present at the place during the drive of the mask examination, was not responsible for the incident.
But locals said they wanted action against him too, because he became a mute audience though as an administrative officer, he had the power to prevent it.
