New Delhi: Delhi police have arrested three criminals who stole hard discs and DVR boxes from the government CCTV camera, an official said here on Thursday.
Police Commissioner Sagar Singh Kalsi said that on September 22, CCTV cameras from various locations stopped functioning.
When checking, IVR (the system has a hard disk to save CCTV recordings) of 17 CCTV systems found stolen.
Senior officers then formed a team consisting of 7 police to investigate this case.
The police team conducted a technical investigation and examined more than 150 CCTV cameras, as a result, two people were seen stealing government property during early hours and escaping on motorbikes.
After getting a clear picture of the alleged people of CCTV footage, which also spread on social media, the two defendants were identified as Rajan Billa and Pankaj, both Rohini residents, arrested.
During sustainable interrogation, the people accused of revealing the name accused of the third, identified as Chander Shekhar Chauhan, who was the recipient of the stolen property.
Property recipients recognize their role in this case and two hard discs recovered from ownership.
Furthermore, he revealed that he had sold the remaining property cases to several unknown customers for Rs 20,000 and the same number also recovered from his ownership.
In total, the police recovered cash of rs 20,000, three hard discs (4TB), 5 DVR boxes and one motorcycle used in the crime commission.
