Trichy / Coimbatore / Cuddalore: Three school students and two teachers have tested positive Covid-19 so far in the state because schools reopened on Wednesday.
They put two girls in Ariyal, others in Namakkal and two teachers who handle the higher middle class at Cuddalore.
Among the two Ariyalur girls, one was a class of class XII and Hosteller at Annai Lourd High School in Varadarajanpettai.
As he developed symptoms of lightweight respiratory infection (URI), he gave a swab for the RT-PCR test in Jayankondam GH on September 1.
Because the results were positive, he was transferred to Jayankondam GH for further treatment.
However, he had attended class on Thursday.
In another case, a class IX girl, a graduate of the day at the Nirmala Girl Middle School, has a higher body temperature during thermal scanning at school on Wednesday.
He then underwent a RT-PCR test and was tested positive even though he did not have other symptoms.
He did not attend class on Thursday.
Class IX students who have undergone chemotherapy in recent years, showed no symptoms and were treated at Medical Medical College Meanor Hospital.
The district health department has collected more than 60 samples from primary and secondary contacts from two girls including family members, classmates and teachers.
School hostels and management were told to ensure further screening processes, he said.
Schools have closed the classrooms and beams used by these students.
Officials say the school will continue to function and students will be accommodated in classrooms that are not used.
In other cases, class X students from Namakkal who attended the class on Wednesday were tested positively when the Covid test results occurred the following day.
“All students and 300-strange teachers undergo a test to check the spread of the virus.

In the Cuddalore district, two teachers handle higher middle class at Jawahar Matrikulation HSS in Neyveli tested positive for Covid-19.
