Alibaug: Police in Roha from Raigad District Maharashtra has registered three cases of theft taking place on the express ship to Mumbai from Goa, an official said on Friday.
While three passengers were robbed at Matsyagandha Express on July 1, a violation in this case was registered on Thursday, the official said.
Roha police register violations based on the Section 379 (theft) of the IPC against unknown people, he said.
According to the police, a passenger of a woman was robbed from cash and valuable items worth Rs 1.94 lakh, while in the second example, unknown people steal cash, cell phones and gold ornaments worth more than RS 3 lakh from a woman , and other women lost valuables worth Rs 32,000 for thieves.
Roha police have launched the probe to arrest thieves who target women on the express train, the official said.
