Chandigarh: Congress faces a large setback as the leader of the Sheela Phool Singh Party, along with several other people, joining BJP on Monday.
The three-time board member Sheela Phool Singh, who is also the Deputy Mayor, expressed his frustration with Congress and said it was an honor to be in BJP.
Expressing his hatred, Prem Pal Chauhan, former Secretary of the Congress who had submitted a nomination as independent of the ward 15 after the Congress denied that the ticket, also announced to join BJP in front of the Arun Sood Party in Krisah, BJP office in sector 33.
Sheela Phool Singh, Representing the Dalit community, said the Congress would be political ravines and no important workers in the Party and High Command were surrounded by lickers.
The sood welcomed the leaders and said BJP was a party based on the principle and it saluted the workers.
He added important responsibilities will be given to leaders in the coming days.
Dhanak President Mahasabha and Vice President of BJP SC Morcha Gurjit Chauhan said Congress had insulted Dhanak Samaj by denying Singh Singh Singh’s ticket.
Dhanak Samj has decided to boycott the Congress and support BJP, he added.
