3 Uzbeks among 16 arrested for partying, flouting Covid norms

Noida: As many as 13 youths and three Uzbek women were arrested from a birthday party organised in a farmhouse in Noida’s Sector 135 in violation of the Covid-safety guidelines.
The youths — mostly students from Delhi — had been using the same pool in the farmhouse in violation of the curfew guidelines, police said.
While the women were staying in the farmhouse for the past two days, the youths had gathered at the Green Beauty Lala Lalchand farmhouse on Tuesday evening.
On a tip-off that a pool party was being organised in the farmhouse on the occasion of the birthday of one of the accused, a police team reached the spot.
Additional DCP (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said, “When cops reached the farmhouse, they found some persons were holding a party and that 13 youths and three women had been using the same pool.
No wine or any other intoxicant was found, but snacks were there.
Since this is a violation of the Covid guidelines and Section 144 has been imposed, an FIR has been lodged against them.” Expressway SHO Yatindra Yadav told TOI that the accused were arrested on Tuesday evening and bailed out from the police station itself.
“The women had arrived some days back, while the youths gathered here on Tuesday.
They were, however, using the same pool,” he said.
An FIR has been lodged against them under IPC sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) and 270 (whoever malignantly does any act which is likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life).
