Coimbatore: Three men were arrested on Saturday because they tried to kill one of their friends at his residence at Veerappa Thevar Colony in Ramanathapuram here on Friday night.
The victim was accepted for Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) with a piercing injury to his forehead and his stomach.
Police Ramanathapuram identified accused of 21-year-old Prasna and Sudharsan alias Sait, both residents of Ramanathapuram, and 21 years old, Nanjundapuram residents.
A police officer said his three were daily wage workers.
“Under the influence of alcohol, all three have approached their friends Anto, 21, from Ramanathapuram, for money to buy liquor.

Based on complaints of Vinodh, Ramanathapuram police registered a case against the trio below 294 (b), 323, 307 and 506 (II) from the Indian criminal code and arrested them on Saturday.
The three were then produced in front of the local court, which returned them in court detention.
