Gurgaon: The three-year-old male leopard was hit by a vehicle near the West Bank toll road in Noah on Saturday morning.
Leopard was found to be aware, but could not move due to injury.
It was then taken to the Rohtak Zoo for care and officials said it had to be fine in time.
The injured Leopard was seen on the roadside around 9am by one of the villagers in the area.
It has been hit by a vehicle between Tauru and Padheni Nuh Village.
In the past 14 years, 10 leopards have died in an accident on the road in South Haryana.
After being told by the villagers, the East Wildlife Department official team from Gurgaon rushed to a place with a net, cage, and a sedative gun.
When the leopard is injured, it takes a team of only 10 minutes to put big cats at home.
Leopard was first taken to the care center at Sultanpur National Park and then to the Rohtak Zoo.
“Leopard couldn’t move because it was hurt.
It was aware and our team lifted it carefully and put it in the cage.
We didn’t calm him down.
It has been referred to the Rohtak Zoo for treatment,” said Rajesh Chahal, Wildlife Inspector, Gurgaon.
If there is a way down in the area for wild animals to cross the freeway, Chahal said, “Yes, there is a wildlife nearby area where the incident happened.” Meanwhile, wildlife activists said this highway was fragmented in Aravalis and Enforce the corridor used by wild animals to cross from Asola wildlife asylum in Delhi, through Gurkaon, to Sariska in Rajasthan.
“It is time for the government Haryana to impose a limitation of 40-50kmph speeds in these corridors,” said Vaishali Rana Chandra, an animal activist wild.
