Gurgaon: Working repairs and widening from three main roads at the Vihar UDYOG Industry Center has not been completed, three years after the project is proposed in 2018.
While the work on the widening of Jalan Shankar connects Shankar Chowk to Old Delhi Jalan 71% complete, widening the street anath, which connects the building Airtel to Old Delhi Road, recently started.
Meanwhile, working at Shyam Road connecting Shyam Chowk to Old Delhi has not even started.
In return for RTI filed by Aeem City-based activists, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) said work on three roads was postponed for several reasons.
Shankar Road’s widening was postponed due to the delay in the 11KV line shift by DHBVN and encroachment in the village of Dundahera.
“Working on the road that connects Shyam Chowk to Old Delhi Road has not started because of the delay in the utility shift by the disk, tree logging by the forest department and the problem proposed by Metro aligned,” said a copy of the RTI response accessed by TOI.
Working on the third stretch has also been postponed mostly due to a shift in utility, he said.

Revamp of Shankar Road was first proposed in the summer of 2018.
In November, GMDA has started a tender process with a six-month deadline for job completion.
It should also be among the first few roads in the city to get a suitable path to be physically challenged.
While GMDA spends RS 7 Crore at Widentening Shankar Road, RS 20 Crore will be spent on the construction of the Shyam Road and other RS 8 Crore Rs on Jalan Anath.
Officials say the three roads will be a three-way lane with a width of 9.9 meters on both sides of the middle threshold, along with tracks and cycling tracks on both sides.
The width of the trail of cycling and the path will be 2.5 meters.
“There are many workers employed in walking or cycling areas to work.
Therefore, there will be special emphasis on the trail and track cycling to ensure their salvation,” said a GMDA official.
The area based in the area often raises traffic problems and this congestion.
Responding to solid traffic complaints on this stretch, GMDA has deactivated road widening plans and traffic management plans together with the corporation of the Industrial Development and Haryana State Infrastructure.
