Hyderabad: Maybe for the first time in this country, Telangana Genco has developed a 30 bed hospital exclusively for migrant workers at the power plant under construction in Damarcherla in Suryapet District.
Energy Minister G Jagady Reddy and Telangana Genco Chairman and Managing Director D Prabhakar Rao inaugurated the hospital on Tuesday.
The decision was taken by Genco because many workers who worked in Yadadri’s thermal power plant in Damarcherla which was being built to produce 4,000 MW power had gone for their home country because of the locking and worries of Pandemic Covid-19.
“In the first wave of Covid-19, a lot of workers from various countries such as Jharkhand, Bihar and to the left for their home countries.
The plant should be ready in 2022, but the works were delayed due to the problem of migrant workers.

More than 8,000 workers are involved for the work, but we go with only 1,200 to 1,500.
With their health insurance, more than 4,000 returns and the government can prevent more workers from going to their country, “said Jagadish Reddy.
He said more than 1,000 migrant workers were vaccinated so far.
It was also decided to provide facilities to workers at the factory and steps taken to provide trust in the workers.
“The hospital is arranged at a cost of Rs 25 Lakh at a place of power plants in a month.
The hospital temporarily has a sufficient number of doctors, medical staff and medicines.
