Mohali: With fear of the third covid wave that towered and Omicron is predicted to reach the area in January, medical preparation in Mohali is inadequate.
30 beds supported by ventilators in civil hospitals are still waiting for oxygen supply to start operations.
Although health authorities have established Ward Covid in Mohali, they do not use it until the ventilator is made functional.
Covid Wards and Oxygen Generation Factory are operated and managed by management from Br B Br Ambedkar State Sciences (AIMS), Mohali.

Bhavneet Bharti said, “We have four oxygen plants in civil hospitals.
And only plants that supply oxygen to 30 ventilator beds are still to start operations, the other three are functional.

Bhavneet Bharti said the One Pressing Swing Adsorption (PSA) of each oxygen plant has been functional in Dhakoli and Derabassi civil hospitals.
Recently, a special oxygen concentrator bank was established in Mohali.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Komal Mittal said expanding assistance towards Covid patients, the Red Cross society had advanced to provide a cost-free oxygen concentrator with a special oxygen concentrator bank at the district level.
Mittal said the concentrator was provided by the Red Cross on the basis of free 15 days of return.
RS 5,000 will be charged for this service, but will be returned.
The patient’s officer had to hand over the self-declaration along with a doctor’s prescription which clearly mentioned the need for a concentrator.

The plant will produce around 2,000 liters per minute of oxygen.
One PSA factory with a capacity of 100 liters per minute will also be made functional in Kharar’s civil hospital immediately, he said.
