Vijayawada: A Panchayat village in West Godavari has been accused by animal rights groups in ordering murder of more than 300 wild dogs by giving poisons through injection.
Incidental and disturbing incidents were reported in the Lingapalem area from West Godavari District Andhra in the last few days.
Sri Latha Challapalli, Treasurer of Tallapalli Charitable Trust who fought for animal problems, allegations, “the murder has occurred since July 24.
A local Panchayat worker has been assigned by higher officials to kill deviant,” he told TII.
The police said they would carry out an autopsy of the carcass to ensure the cause of their deaths.
