Pune: Most of the 31 villages, mostly in secluded districts, have not reported a single Covid-19 case so far since the Pandemic outbreak in March last year, the latest review report from Pune Zilla Parishad was revealed.
CEO of Zilla Parishad (ZP) Ayush Prasad told TII, “some of these villages are in a very remote area and have taken adequate steps such as the complete sealing of their borders and isolate residents who come out to work.” ZP officials conducted a Covid test to check if there were cases of asymptomatic covid in these villages, said a senior health department official.
Dr.
BB Gadve, Tehsil Health Officer Khed, said, “These villages are in the hills at the western extreme tip of the Tehsil.
Also, they have very limited contacts with neighboring villages.
During the peak of Pandemic, Sarpanch in the village -Hesa limits the movement of people.
Most of them deliver the items needed on the doorway of people.
“Dr.
Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer, said the primary health center in these areas has been directed to provide drugs to villagers -Hesa through Asha workers.
“This will ensure that they do not get along with people in other villages.” Said Pawar.
ZP drives a special vaccination for remote villages last month.
