Kalyan: Thirty-two inmates and three Adharwadi prison staff in Kalyan were tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
All asymptomatic patients and have been stored in the field of isolation prepared in prison.
Prison authorities said that those who had tested positively were all new inmates in Adharwadi’s prison.
Officials said that in accordance with the new Covid protocol, when the prisoner just entered prison, they were tested for Covid before being shifted to their barracks.
Officials said they had recently done Covid tests on many new inmates and staff, including 32 inmates and 3 prison staff had tested positive.
As a Sadaftu, Jailor from Adharwadi’s prison, said, “Everyone who has tested positively has no symptoms and they are stored in the field of isolation”.
