Hyderabad: Special Operations Team (SOT) Detective Rachakonda damaged the gang of drugs between countries and won 320 kilos of marijuana worth 40 lakh from their ownership.
Acting on specific information, SOT Dehuth Zona Bhongir and Malkajirgiri at Rachakonda Nabbed M Raj Kumar from Bidar in Karnataka near the Kothapet Fruit Market when he transports marijuana from the Gokavaram district of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh to Bidar.
Rajajan Raj Kumar and the main defendant, Ranga Lal, 25, from Bidar fled.
The police confiscated 320 kilos of marijuana hidden in a pickup truck driven by Raj Kumar.
During the interrogation, Raj Kumar admitted that four years ago he migrated from Bidar to Hyderabad and began living in Ambedkar Nagar Colony in Saroornagar.
He has driven a vehicle carrier of goods to transport fruits from the cothapet fruit market to various places.
The defendant escaped, Ranga Lal, was peddler marijuana and he knew Raj Kumar because they came from the same area in Bidar.
On July 18, Raj Kumar received an order to transport the pomegranate burden of the Kothapet fruit market to Rajahmundry and on July 19 he conveyed a burden on Rajahmundry.
Before Raj left the city, Ranga Lal met him near the Kothapet Fruit Market and asked him to bring the burden of marijuana from the Gokavaram area in the East Godavari district during the return trip.
After lowering the consignment of fruits in Rajahmundry, on July 20, Raj met Ranga Lal in Gokavaram.
They went to the nearest agency area and contained 152 packages of marijuana at the item operator which included contrabanded goods with a blank tray.
As soon as marijuana was loaded at the item operator, Lal went to Bidar on the RTC bus and instructed Raj to give him a consignment.
The defendant bought one kilo marijuana for Rs 6000 and they planned to sell the same to the client in Bidar for more than Rs 10,000 per kilo, said Inspector G Naveen.
