33 dredging fiber boats confiscated in Palghar

Palghar: In the crackdown against illegal dredging for sand around the Vaitarna River in the Palghar district, the administration has confiscated 33 dredging fiber vessels, police said on Friday.
Officials from the police department and income capture boat in joint operations on Wednesday and then destroy them, said Palghar Police Pro in a statement.
However, people who operate these ships managed to escape from the place, he said.
He said the violation was registered at the police station in Palghar and Vasai against people who were not named involved in illegal dredging around the river.
Dredging has been banned around the river by the district government because it has a threat to the nearest train bridge and has a negative impact on the environment.
Palghar Dhanaji Toraskar Sub-division officer said one dredging of fiber boats drained Rs 4 lakh until Rs 5 Lakh.
