Patna: Investigation Officers from the Commercial Tax Department (CTD) have explored more than RS80.90 CRORE tax theft conducted by 33 fake companies operating in more than half a dozen districts in the state, CTD Commissioner Cum Secretary Pratima Kumari said on Wednesday.
Substitution of fake companies concerned is more than RS1,279.48 Crore.
Of the 33 companies that their activities and document the investigation team at their declared address, 13 belongs to Patna Regency, 10 to advice, four to the Magadh district, three to Darbhanga, two to Bhagalpur.
The investigation team faned on August 3 in 33 locations to raids.
Companies do business and trade of iron and steel, coal, laptops, batteries, aluminum and copper memos, bitumen, multi-refill operations, among others.
Overall, as many as 24 companies found not exist at their address stated for business.
Prima Facie, they are involved in tax theft and trade bills using fake companies as well.
Their transaction is worth RS379.48 Crore and conducting tax avoidance worth RS54.80 Crore, in addition to violating the tax provisions of goods and services (GST).
While three other companies were at their address, but were found involved in trade bills.
They trade coal and laptop sales.
Actions will be taken against them after the completion of the investigation.
Computer traders based in Darbhanga have shown turnover in several crores through laptop sales and purchases and embezzling taxes through fake transportation.
The benefits of input tax loans are given to traders outside the country.
As many as Rs 30 lakh the value of goods has been confiscated.
A company registered in Aurangabad committed trading from Dehri and embezzled RS16 Crore worth of taxes by operating several other companies.
Of the three registered companies in Patna and Bhagalpur, which is a multi-remember operator, one does not exist and has a turnover of more than the RS900 Crore in three years.
Refill vouchers worth some crores are purchased from retail trading outside the country, but refills are carried out through the online platform.
The modus operandi from the company concerned is still checked.
