Ahmedabad: Following rap from the High Court for the illegal release of toxic industrial waste which is not treated to the Sabarmati River, the Civic body has been in action.
On Monday, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) claimed that he had cut off 33 drainage lines that pumped waste which was not treated into the city’s domestic waste pathway.
Ideally, the industrial unit must drain their waste to the waste channel which takes it to a general waste treatment plant (CETP) after that waste treated pumped into the AMC domestic waste processing plant (STP).
AMC officials supervised the Naroda industry cluster, Narol, Odhav and Vatva and neighboring plantations.
33 lines disconnected are in Shahpur, Odhav, Behrampura, Gomtipur, Sardenagar, India Colony, Naroda, Lambha, Isanpur and Darilimda.
The action arose after HC recognized the pill in October about sustainable Sablarmi pollution.
Nearly a month ago, AMC acknowledged before HC that “industrial waste” which was not treated or treated or part of “did not really work” waste treatment (ETP) was “thrown into Sabarmati directly”.
It was added to a written statement that “industrial discharge which was completely untreated” also “was dismissed illegally to the sewerage network” designed for household waste.
AMC acceptance came at the time of one member of the HC task unit, Rohit Rohit Prajapati, told the court that Sabarmati for 120km down to the Arab Sea was the “dead river”.
