Gurgaon: More than 33% of posts for postgraduate teachers (PGTS) and 29% of posts for trained graduate teachers (TGTS) lay empty in the state, revealing the response submitted by the Ministry of Education on the questions submitted in the ongoing assembly.
In response to the question proposed by Congress Mla Varun Chaudhary, the State Education Department has noted that more than 13,000 PGTS posts, who teach grade 11 and 12, and 11,000 TGTS posts, who teach students to class X, are currently empty.
The MLA Congress also looks for details of the total vacancy from the state government.
The Ministry of Education has noted that the requirements of more than 39,000 PGT lectures in the state, only 26,000 are currently appointed.
Similarly, the total post sanctions for TGT is 37,000, but the state government only works 26,000.
Responding to the query on the status of the Cadre Mewat, the department said that the sanctions pole of more than 3,500 was only 2,500 posts currently filled.
The department further notes that it has initiated the process of filling out this post and sending a letter to the Selection Committee of the Staff Haryana for the same thing.
Meanwhile, trade unions said that the state government failed to provide an election promise to fill vacancies.
“There is a tremendous workload of teachers and the government, instead of filling the approved post, close the school,” said Dushyant Thakran, Haryana Prathmik District District Sangh.
