35.64% of school students attend offline classes in Karnataka on Monday

Bengaluru: In the middle of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, only 35.64 percent of 6-8 students who have attended school for physical classes on Monday, in accordance with the data of the Karnataka Education Ministry.
Schools in Karnataka for Class 6-8 have been reopened on September 6, complying with all Covid-19 protocols.
In class 8, only 23.22 percent have attended the physical class on the first day of their school on Monday, the data stated.

According to the State Education Ministry report, around 29.15 percent of grade 6 students went to school to attend offline classes on Monday.
There are more than 10 lakh students registered in class 6 for the academic year 2021-2022.
In class 7, only 28.05 percent of students attended school on the first day, while the number of students who were registered exceeded 10 lakh in the state, according to official data.
The Karnataka government made a decision to reopen the school for 6-8 in August 30, retaining all Covid-19 protocols.
However, the government has not made a mandatory presence for students.
Thus, the state operates ‘blended mode’ education I.e, students who do not want to continue their physical class will still have the choice to attend online classes.
