Kolkata: Two dozen fire department officials, 20 strange police officers, a number of civilian personnel and around 50 strange locals lent aid to save a 65-year-old woman in a new city stranded in the middle of the road – her legs.
Trapped in the channel cover – for three and a half hours in the middle of downpour on Tuesday.
DLF New Town Heights Resident Jayashree Roy Chowdhury waded back home through a flooded stretch when his leg was trapped between the covers of drain and drain edges near Sukhabrishti in the new city.

But everyone fails.

“The woman began to be tense and sick sitting in water with heavy rain.
All the neighbors were very protective when we took turns to hold the umbrella above her head and gave him to eat from time to time,” said Kalyan Bose, one of the neighbors.
When the clock ticked, senior administration and police officials rushed to the place.
