Nashik: Head of Civic Kailash Jadhav on Thursday said that around 35% of all covid vaccine recipients who qualified have been fully invested in the city.
With the speed of vaccination drive, the remaining recipients will also be vaccinated.
Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has around 13.6 Lakh beneficiaries over the age of 18 years.
“From them, more than 4.8 lakh, or 35%, has received a vaccine dose.
This is a good thing because the vaccination rate has increased,” Jadhav said.
In addition, around 9.1 lakh (67%) of qualified beneficiaries have received the first dose.
NMC has 145 vaccination centers and there are more than 20 private hospitals which are part of the vaccination drive.
Recently, the availability of vaccines has increased and the speed of the drive has increased.
“At this point, protection is the main tool to fight infection.
The best is to ensure the behavior that matches Covid at any time and get Jab which will at least reduce the criticality of infection,” Jadhav said.
Officers also showed that NMC prepared to fight the third wave expected from pandemic, but people need to take care of themselves.
The officer also said that the vaccination program received a good response from the people.
NMC officials showed that as many as 105 pregnant women had been given the first dose so far, while 25 also got a second shot.
