Ahmedabad: A total of 35 people including 16 women and six children suffered injuries after the bus was upside down near the village of Khadol on Jalan Raya Ahmedabad-Bagodara in the Ahmedabad district early Tuesday morning, police officers said.
The officers said 11 including three children from 35 passengers suffered severe injuries and four of them were said to be critical.
No one was reported to have died in the accident, a police officer said.
“Personal luxury buses, carrying around 55 people from Ahmedabad on pilgrimage to Naklang Mahadev in Koriyak Village, Bhavnagar District, met an accident near Khadol’s village after the driver was swept away and lost control of the wheel,” said a Dholka police officer.
All people who were injured rushed to the nearest government hospital in Bagodara.
The condition of four passengers was serious and they had been referred to the Hospital of Sola Hospital in Ahmedabad for treatment, the officer said.
Apart from 11 passengers, other passengers were repatriated after primary care, he said.
Six ambulances from Dhandhuka, Fedra, Bagodara, Dholera, Barwala and Ranpur rushed to the place to bring the injured passengers to the hospital, he added.
The locals say that the impact of the accident was so strong that the window glasses the entire bus was broken and injured pulled out the earliest window to save their lives.
Police officers said that the passengers were residents of every time and the Shahpur area in the city of Ahmedabad.
