GHAZIABAD: A 35-year-old man was allegedly shot at by two bike-borne men on Tuesday night in Kotwali area.
According to police, the victim, identified as Parvez, is a resident of Sudamapuri, Vijay Nagar and runs a bakery stall.
Sandeep Singh, SHO, Kotwali, said the crime happened around 10pm on Tuesday.
“Our team reached the spot and we took him to a nearby hospital.
His condition is stable.
The man received a bullet injury near his right shoulder.
We have informed his family,” he said.
The SHO added that during questioning, Parvez told them that while going home, he had stopped for some work and parked his bike near the main road.
“Two men came on a bike.
Both were wearing masks.
They asked Parvez what he was doing there and he replied he had some work.
Then one of the men pulled out his pistol and fired at him.
The accused fled after that,” Singh said.
Police are checking CCTV footage from the nearby areas to trace the duo.
On the basis of a complaint, an FIR has been registered against unknown people under Section of 307 (attempt to murder) at Kotwali police station.
